The Microchip is Invented in 1959
Jack Kilby of Texas Instruments and Robert Noyce of Fairchild Semicondoctor Systems are co-credited with creating the microchip. They both built on their work with integrated circuits to create and miniaturize the number of ICs that could be placed on a single chip. Immediate uses were found in computers and other electronic equipment using tubes and transistors.
